![]() On the downside, it won't dim-not sure if that's a requirement for you. This is basically two relays in one, so you could mount it in the ceiling and control the fan and light separately (I'd recommend a button device like the Picos we're both fans of to get control at the wall, but there are more options and this has a bit of a startup cost if you're not already into Lutron I think the Aeon can work with a regular wall switch, but I'm not sure how the Dual model handles this when there are two loads). One that might work particularly well here is the Aeon Dual Nano Switch. I also assume he means in in-box Z-Wave/Zigbee "micro" switch (or dimmer for the lights), like ones from RGBGenie, Aeon/Aeotech, Fibaro, and others-if not, that's something you can consider, too. The Zooz is available now, doesn't need a canopy module, but does require separate wiring for the fan and light, which it sounds like you won't have (I know you do now, but I'm assuming your previous fan-only unit didn't happen to be wired with a second line wire, in which case you have a lot more options). It also won't be released for probably another month or few. If you have room for a canopy module, the Inovelli that mentioned might work, but because they're really designed for ceiling fans, you might not have room in the exhaust fan box for the required module that is supposed to fit in the canopy. So what are y'alls thoughts on ways I can make this happen? With everything shut down, I probably will have plenty of time to try and think this problem through. But then I would need some sort of zwave relay in the unit itself to turn power on/off to the fan and light independently. So I can have power always going to the unit. The only way I can really think to make this happen is to get a switch, like a Zooz or Inovelli that lets you disable the relay. He's a heavy sleeper and is very groggy and easily startled when he first wakes up. But I don't want the exhaust fan to come on because I don't want the noise to scare him. ![]() With the new unit I get, I would really like to be able to get one that has a light and use it as a nightlight when my toddler (who is potty training) come into the bathroom at night. ![]() I have 2 switches one for the lights above the sink and one for the exhaust fan. I don't want to do any re-wiring of the house. I've already removed the old one and just stuffed a towel into the hole it left in the ceiling. ![]() The exhaust fan when we bought this house a couple of years ago was already toast. ![]()
